Bio

Amanda Leigh is a fine artist, scenic artist, costumer, musician, and instrument of creation. Formerly of Brooklyn, New York, she currently lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia and occasionally Boston, Massachussetts. She owns the Etsy shop Tanglefire Design, focusing on original art and handmade bohemian, eco-conscious clothing and costume pieces created from upcycled fabrics. Her personal fine art work can't really be pinned down stylistically as she loves to try new means of creation, though she often draws inspiration from the natural world and the spiritual connections of visionary art.

A lifelong visual artist who drew before she walked, Amanda began acting as a teenager, finding her way to theatre design and production. She studied costume design, musical theatre performance, and fine art at Marymount Manhattan College in New York, NY, and continued her career on a number of Broadway and regional productions, now focusing on scenic art in the film industry. Her extensive professional theatrical experience crosses nearly every discipline in the art form, from scenic art and set dressing to costume design and construction to prop and puppet fabrication, from acting to special effects makeup.

Beyond the visual, Amanda is a classically trained singer who plays bodhran, most any other drum she can get her hands on, and guitar. She has performed musical theatre professionally. Passionate for folk and Celtic music, Amanda studied bodhran with Siobhan Egan of the Irish-American supergroup Cherish the Ladies. Having played in many pub sessions in New York, Boston, and St. John's, Newfoundland, she continues to sing and play bodhran at Limerick Junction Irish Pub in Atlanta.

Ever-evolving, Amanda is a constant seeker of connection and creative collaboration with any and all beings who inspire her artistically, musically, and personally, and remains steeped in gratitude for each and every one.
